Elysium Institut review: cost, what you get and follow-up

Elysium Institut is a Zurich-area concierge clinic built around a broad menu of apheresis, blood-adsorption and oxygen-based procedures rather than a standard executive physical. Its official site names more than 20 apheresis and hemoadsorption approaches, plus HBOT, IV infusions, hyperthermia and a cell-based service called Stempheresis. No public treatment price, course length or standard follow-up schedule was available when checked, so a useful comparison requires a written indication, protocol and complete quote.

What we checked

Price, program scope, clinician time and follow-up.

We checked the provider’s current program pages and, where available, independent or regulatory sources listed below. We then separated standard inclusions from optional costs and open questions. Every source carries the date we reviewed it.

The short answer

Is Elysium Institut worth considering?

Price by consultation

Elysium is relevant to a patient already considering a specific apheresis procedure and willing to examine the indication, product and regulatory basis before paying. It is a weak fit for a healthy buyer seeking a priced preventive baseline, because the public offer centers procedures and does not publish an all-in package. Ask which ASFA-recognized indication, if any, applies to you and request the clinician schedule, complication plan and total course cost in writing.

Best fit

  • A patient referred for a defined apheresis indication who wants a specialist consultation in Switzerland.
  • Someone prepared to compare the exact blood-processing method, medical rationale and course price across providers.
  • A buyer who can coordinate records and follow-up with an established physician at home.

Ask before booking

  • What diagnosis-specific indication and evidence grade support the exact procedure you recommend?
  • What are the device, filter, replacement fluid and any cell product used in my protocol?
  • How much physician time is included before, during and after each treatment?
  • What is the complete course price, including tests, medicines, disposables and follow-up?
  • Which hospital and named clinician handle an acute complication or a problem after I travel home?

Choose something else if

  • You want a conventional preventive checkup with a public package price.
  • The proposed rationale is general detoxification or lifespan extension without a diagnosis-specific evidence grade.
  • The clinic will not identify the cell product, apheresis device, physician responsible and emergency pathway in writing.

What Elysium Institut actually sells

This is a procedure-led clinic, not one fixed longevity assessment. The public menu ranges from conventional therapeutic plasma exchange terminology to clinic-branded variants, hemoadsorption, HBOT, IV infusions, hyperthermia and Stempheresis, which the clinic describes as apheresis combined with an autologous cell therapy. Those services are not interchangeable. Each needs its own indication, consent discussion, product or device documentation and expected endpoint.

Elysium Institut cost and what a quote should include

Elysium did not publish a session price, course price or standard package when checked. Request a written estimate that separates consultation, laboratory work, imaging, vascular access, disposables, replacement fluids, cell processing, medications, physician attendance and follow-up. Also ask how many sessions are proposed, what would stop the course early and which hospital would handle a complication. Travel and accommodation near Zurich sit outside any clinic quote unless explicitly included.

Physician time and follow-up are not yet comparable

The clinic names a medical director with internal-medicine and nephrology experience and describes medically supervised care. Its public pages do not state how much physician time comes before, during or after a procedure, or whether a named doctor remains available once an international patient leaves Switzerland. Ask who establishes the indication, who is physically present during treatment, when laboratory results are repeated and who owns an adverse event or abnormal result after discharge.

Apheresis evidence depends on the indication

The American Society for Apheresis evaluates therapeutic apheresis by specific disease and clinical scenario, with graded recommendations across 166 indications in its 2023 guideline. That framework does not make every filtration method appropriate for prevention, detoxification or healthy aging. Ask the clinic to name the exact indication, ASFA category if one exists, expected measurable benefit and evidence for the proposed device and protocol. A technical ability to remove a circulating substance is not by itself proof of a patient benefit.

Cell and oxygen services need separate scrutiny

Swissmedic treats somatic-cell and tissue-engineered products as advanced therapy medicinal products subject to therapeutic-product requirements, while HBOT has its own device, indication and safety questions. Elysium should therefore identify the source, processing, authorization basis and administration route for any cell product, and the pressure, oxygen dose, contraindication screen and emergency procedures for HBOT. The clinic’s published treatment claims are not independent outcome verification.

Questions people ask about Elysium Institut

How much does Elysium Institut cost?

Elysium did not publish a treatment or program price when checked. Request a written all-in quote covering the full proposed course, tests, products, medicines, physician time and follow-up.

What treatments does Elysium Institut offer?

Its official site lists more than 20 apheresis and blood-adsorption methods, plus HBOT, IV infusions, ozone-related procedures, hyperthermia, peptide consultations and a cell-based service called Stempheresis.

Is Elysium Institut a standard longevity checkup?

No fixed checkup package is publicly described. The offer is mainly procedure-led, with diagnostics and longer-term care used to select or support treatments.

Is apheresis proven for longevity or detoxification?

Therapeutic apheresis has recognized uses for specific diseases, but that does not establish a general healthy-aging or detoxification benefit. Ask for the indication-specific evidence and measurable endpoint.
